1965 Ford Mustang Convertible

Fords Pony car, the Mustang was first introduced in April, 1964.
In 1964, only the Hardtop and Convertible were available. For 1965, not only was the Fastback introduced, the sporty GT equipment group was now available on all three body styles.
The GT got the V8 standard, five-dial instrumentation, fog lamps, rocker panel stripes, larger sway bars and disc brakes.
Another option was an interior decor group; the ‘Pony’ Interior. It got embossed running ponies on the seat trim, five gauge instrument panel, woodgrain steering wheel, and woodgrain on the instrument cluster and glovebox.
Shelby American built performance versions of the Mustang. In 1965 GT Fastbacks were delivered to Shelby, the back seat was removed, turning the Mustang into a 2 seater ‘sports car’ (able to race under the SCCA rules), engine power was increased by 35hp, suspension improved and fibreglass hood. All 1965 Shelby GT350s were Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue Stripes.
1965 Engines; 120hp 200 cu in 6 cyl (T code), 289 V8s came in 3 specs; the base 200hp 2 barrel (C Code), 225hp 4 barrel (A Code) and the high performance 271hp Hi Po 289 (K Code).

1970 Ford XY Falcon 500 GS Sedan

The XY Falcon was built from Oct 1970- March 1972
A mild facelift of the XW Falcon, the XY got a new divided plastic grille and revised tail lights, the 6 cylinder engines were upgraded.
The Sedan available in Standard, 500, Futura, Fairmont and GT.
The Wagon; Standard, 500 and Fairmont.
The Utility in Standard or 500, also 432 4WD utes were made.
The Panel Van in just Standard.
The Falcon 500 got 2 speed wipers, courtesy lights, carpet.
The Futura got a centre arm rest, full door trims and a heater.
The Fairmont got bucket seats, console and a woodgrain dash.
The GS options package was available on 500, Futura and Fairmont. They got GS stripes, chrome wheel covers, full instrumentation, and rim blow steering wheel
The GT got the 351, Fairmont interior, extra instrumentation, sports steering wheel, 4 speed manual, driving lights, black grille, black tail light panel, black bonnet, Shaker scoop and side stripes.
An even higher performance GT was made available, the limited edition GTHO, to make sure it won the race at Bathurst, the XY GTHO did win the big race in 1971.
Engines; 6 cyls; 130hp 200 and 155hp 250, (also 170hp 250 2V option) V8s were 220hp 302 and 250hp 351 V8s (GT 300hp)
