Ferrari F12 TRS review
As if Ferraris can get any better, Ferrari goes and spruces up an F12 Berlineta to create a one-off custom with the Ferrari F12 TRS. Each year, Ferrari only builds 7,000 vehicles, but to increase profits, their ultra-exclusive Special Projects program will take ordinary Ferraris to new heights. Aimed at the auto maker’s most loyal customers, the program churns out amazing bespoke rides like the F12 TRS, which made its debut during the annual Ferrari Cavalcade driving tour in Sicily. The cost of the TRS is thought to be close to about .2 million, which is triple the price of Ferrari’s LaFerrari flagship.
The one-off Ferrari was created for a loyal Ferrari client, with initial inspirations for the exotic being the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa – which pays homage to the vintage ride with the “TRS” part in its name. Ferrari has confirmed that the F12 TRS features the same power train and performance specs as a stock F12 Berlinetta, so it’s powered by a 6.3-liter V12 engine that pushes out 729 ponies and 508 lb.-ft. of torque, allowing it to go from 0-62 mph in just 3.1 seconds before topping out at 211 mph.
As far as looks, the vehicle boasts a sharp nose typical of Ferrari’s and aggressively sculpted forms that flow back over the hood. There’s a low, wraparound windscreen that forms a a long dark band of glass and the engine’s signature red cylinder heads can be seen via a window in the hood. While the F12 Berlinetta fettered an aerobridge that sat above the rear fender, that’s now gone on the TRS, allowing for its open-top design. Inside, there’s a minimalist look with many of the controls having been removed (like air conditioning), while it flaunts carbon fiber with a matte finish, leather and Alcantara.
