Bob Tasca III in his Motorcraft / Quick Lane Ford Mustang Shelby Nitro Funny Car at the NHRA Carolinas Nationals held September 18-20, 2009 in Concord, North Carolina. This paint scheme was designed by 8 year old Liam Flanagan to help raise awareness for Juvenile Diabetes. Bob qualified 11th for this race with a time of 4.128 seconds at 302.41 mph down the 1000′ track. He won the first round over Ron Capps but suffered engine problems and lost in the 2nd round to eventual winner Robert Hight who also drives a Ford Mustang (for John Force Racing). These photos are used courtesy of Bob Tasca III and I stitched them together from 4 shots. Thanks to Bob, Liam, and the good people at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I have a granddaughter with JD so this is a cause very close to my heart.
